Why does BHS need a new Sixth Form Centre? Nearly 90% of our students choose to stay at BHS for Sixth Form and achieve exceptional results despite not having a dedicated Sixth Form space. The Big Build will create a modern environment designed for independent study, collaboration, and personal growth, helping our young women thrive and prepare for the future. The project will also benefit younger years by freeing up teaching and social spaces across the school, including reducing overcrowding at lunchtime. It's natural for families to keep options open as their teens explore their interests and future pathways. However, keep in mind: 90% of students choose to stay at BHS for sixth form, reflecting the strength of our academic offer and pastoral support. Of those who leave, only around 3–4% move to other academically equivalent schools, with most choosing specialist or vocational routes. Places at other high-performing sixth forms are VERY limited and highly competitive. A donation to The Big Build TODAY helps ensure BHS continues to provide an outstanding Sixth Form for the vast majority who choose to stay. Congratulations to Elisa in Year 8 on an amazing achievement at the 2nd weekend of the South-East Regional Swimming Championships! Elisa delivered a superb performance in her specialist event, becoming Regional Champion in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke. She also added a bronze medal in the 400m Individual Medley . We're delighted to hear that Elisa has secured her place at the English National Championships in July!

We were delighted to welcome Becky High alumnae Libby, Julia, Pattie, Jackie, Netty and Heather who were in some of the first classes here at BHS! Our incredible subject prefects and Miss Lilitou have launched a series of 'Book Cafe' events that will take place every half term. This half term we hosted a 'Mystery Book Cafe' for Year 7, offering an opportunity for pupils to immerse themselves in an experience that related to their studies of the mystery genre, where games, puzzles (and cakes) were on offer! Our challenge: solving the mystery of who murdered Ms Harrison!
