This afternoon our Year 13 Media Studies students hosted Pipers Corner school for an intense revision symposium in the leadup to their final exams. Our students prepared workshops and activities to refine their own revision (content and exam techniques). The peertopeer learning element proved particularly valuable, giving students the opportunity to engage with different perspectives and approaches.

Join a family event THIS Sunday (26th April 4-6.30pm) and support the Becky High Big Build. Parents and daughters (and other family members/ carers) are invited to join us on the astro for some fun sporting challenges (no experience necessary!) and the opportunity to win prizes! Netball - how many shots can you make against the clock? Cricket - if you are a beginner try out our softball game; for the more experienced can you win a prize on our accurate bowling challenge? Football beat the keeper in our penalty game Tasty food available to purchase including pizza pasta and ice cream Take a tour of the current sixth form space and understand more about the planned renovation (to begin this summer). There will be no hard sell or pressure to donate - instead we want to raise awareness of the 'Big Build' amongst our Becky High families, and explain how the project will positively impact your daughter's school experience in the future. Before Easter, students were tasked with raising £60 before May 15th which will go towards the fund for a new sixth form centre. To date we have raised £2000, but with 1200 students at Becky High, we are confident we can raise more! Here is a film in which some of our students talk about what they are doing/ have done to raise theirs. The form that collectively raises £1800 (30 x £60) wins a pizza party and non-uniform day! The campaign is called Sixty for 60 because it's our 60th birthday and what better gift could there be than a new sixth form space which will benefit ALL students not just our sixth formers! All donations should be made via the Sixty for 60 option on ScoPay.

Today we welcome our Year 7 and 8 families for our in house open evening! Tours, talks and the opportunity to sample food from our new cafeteria provider, Culinera!

Our new Prefects have been hard at work updating the House boards and Leyla, Sienna (pictured) and Evie, our Head Girl team, have been working hard on the Senior Prefect board. The perfect place to discover who is who, what their fav place to have travelled to is and who their fav singer/ song is! A retrospective post! Congrats to our A-Level and GCSE Drama students who have had a very busy few weeks with their Component 2 performance examinations. The students all worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of the performances they produced. Well done!

Some of our students reading The Young Quills Historical Fiction books before they decide which book they would like to see on the shortlist! The competition is held annually, both to recognise good historical fiction writing and to encourage youngsters to develop a love of history and a feel for the period they are studying. Previous winners include Jacqueline Wilson, Hilary McKay, Barbara Henderson, Jill Harvey, Paul Dowswell, Theresa Breslin and Laurence Anholt.
