Becky High Big Build

We are fundraising £1 million to build a new sixth form centre which will open in September 2027.

We have a fantastic pastoral and academic offering at sixth form, but the past few years have seen an increase in our popularity and a rise in sixth form student numbers, and we have outgrown our sixth form spaces.  We now want to match the academic and pastoral experiences our students currently experience with a functional sixth form space they can call their own.

How much has been raised so far?

The current fundraising figure is £383,330 and we hope to reach £500,000 by the time we break up for Christmas.

Who will benefit from this project?

This new space won’t just benefit our sixth formers, it will:

  • Free up space across the rest of the school
  • Provide greater flexibility in how the whole school campus is used for learning and enrichment.
  • Reduce over-crowding in the main cafeteria for the younger years.

Why do we need it?

Here are Tina Bond (Headteacher) and Lou Wolfenden (Year 8 parent and Chair of the Big Build Board) talking about why this campaign is so important:

What are the sixth form facilities like now?

Here's Molly in Year 13 to take you on a tour of the current spaces available for use by our sixth formers:

What will it look like?

These images show you what the outside of the building will look like, increasing what we currently have by 680 sq ft. The extension will go on top of the existing Sixth Form Study Area and expand side ways to take up the corridors that are currently in place. This will allow sixth formers to have their own entrance.

How can I get involved?

  • Spread the word: tell other parents/ carers to raise awareness that it’s happening.
  • Come to an information reception: Give 60 mins of your time to attend a reception to learn more about the project. The next reception is 1830 – 1930 on Monday 8th December. Sign up here to attend.
  • Contact us for a 1-2-1 information session: If you don’t have time to attend a reception, contact Abbey Turner, Ms Bond’s PA, to arrange a time for Ms Bond to take you through the project. Abbey can be contacted via information@beaconsfieldhigh.school.
  • Speak to our Campaign Manager: If there's anything that hasn't been covered here, email Sarah Melvin via Melvin-s@beaconsfieldhigh.school.

Your questions answered!

Can I have an online link to make a gift?

We don't have an online link because it's important we take parents through the many ways they can make a gift to the campaign. These include using tax relief, payroll giving, matched giving, shares and having the ability to spread your gift over 1 - 5 years.

I can't make any of the upcoming reception dates. How can I find out more?

Ms Bond or one of our Big Build Board members are happy to arrange a time that suits you, to take you through the plans and the ways in which you can contribute.

I'd really like to get involved in the campaign, is that possible?

Absolutely!  Please email Sarah Melvin and she will take you through the ways in which you can get involved. Every volunteer needs to take part in a short training session. This can be done in person or online (though in person is preferable).
